Hello Hapkido Friends,
Well the first week back from vacation has been awesome. It felt good to get back to work with my local guys! I would like to offer a warm welcome to our newest student Mr. Tony Chu. Those of you training remotely have been waiting for new material for a couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience! I promise the material is on its way. Master Feathers and his family are working on new stuff and Mr. Barrett Berard with Black Dragon has also started helping us out. Of course we'll resume filming here at Yorktown next Monday. I wanted to take this first week back to get back into the groove before we have to groove in front of a camera. I hope everybody out there is training and having fun with Hapkido. It would be nice if you remote students checked in with me sometime next week. I would say it's time to do a Digital Dojang review with some of you. Remember if any of you ever have any questions about techniques or Hapkido you will always have my ear and I am more than willing to meet with you in the Digital Dojang as often as needed to get you where you need to be with your training. So roll call guys!!! Time to check in. I just wanted to let you know that at the moment what you are seeing is Hapkido Online Beta Edition. In other words this is the prototype learning system. We still have enormous work to do before Beta is complete. Already I am brimming with ideas for Hapkido Online Version 1.0. It's tempting to rush ahead, however Hapkido Online philosophy mirrors Hapkido, we must first establish a solid foundation from which to build from before advancing. So growth and development will be gradual and responsible. My first and highest priority is always you guys, the students. Not a day goes by that I don’t ask myself, am I getting it right and how can I do it better? If you ever have a suggestion or feedback please feel free to let me know. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all who are participating in the project, particularly to those of you who have contributed your financial resources and most especially your time. I would never have gotten this far without your support. If any of you would like to have your Martial arts school or club listed on the 'Member Schools' page: http://www.hapkido-online.com/member-schools.html Please email me your logo and any information you would like listed. Some of you are still in the Gup ranks and may feel uncomfortable listing your school there, don't. We can just list you as a Hapkido Club till you have attained sufficient Dan Rank to call yourself a school. A Hapkido Club working in conjunction with Hapkido Online and THA is a viable thing and successful schools can start this way. You never know you may have people in your area who want to learn Hapkido and a club might appeal to them. Finally I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Andrew Fabbro for giving us a glowing review on his martial arts distance learning review site: www.blackbeltdl.com It's a cool site, you all should check it out. So that's it for now, happy training. Very Respectfully, Jon
